Tell the veterinarian if you animal may be PREGNANT, is positive for feline leukemia, or feline AIDS, or is on medication.
DHPP - (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus) - Vaccinate at 2 months of age then give every 3-4 weeks until 4 months of age. If begun after 3 months of age, only 2 vaccines (3-4 weeks apart) are given. Booster 1 year after the initial series and then every 3 years.
Rabies - Give first vaccination at 3 months of age, then 1 year later. After that give every 3 years.
Bordetella - Required before surgery.
LEPTOSPIROSIS - Recommended for dogs that may be exposed to livestock or wild animal urine (example: hikes, camps, swims in creeks or ponds, drinking from puddles, or roams a large property). Can be included in distemper vaccine. Begin at 3 months of age or older. Give 2 vaccinations, 3-4 weeks apart. Vaccinate once a year.
HEARTWORM TESTING - Test dogs over 12 months old before starting on preventative. Retest each year. Use preventative year-round. Puppies start preventative at 8 weeks old. Includes monthly dewormer.
FVRCP - (Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) Required before spay/neuter at Animal Outreach, optimally 3-4 weeks before surgery. Vaccinate at 8 weeks of age, then give every3-4 weeks until 4 months of age. If begun after 3 months of age, only 2 vaccines (3-4 weeks apart) are given. Boster 1 year after the initial series and then every 3 years.

Leukemia - Best to test before vaccinating. Cats can contract leukemia virus from their monthers or from other cats, so every cat should be tested before vaccination or before being introduced to new cats. If they already have the disease, they do not need the vaccine! Begin at 3 months of age and give 2 vaccines, 3 weeks apart. Then give every year.
