The Animal Outreach Board of Directors meets monthly in a closed session and holds quarterly open sessions. Closed sessions are reserved for current board members, with staff invited to participate as needed. Open sessions are available to the public.
The Board oversees four standing committees, each led by a board member and open to participation from board members, staff, and Animal Outreach volunteers (see details below). All board members are required to actively serve on at least one standing committee and may participate in additional committees as their time allows.
Animal Outreach is also supported by an Advisory Committee made up of individuals outside the organization, including representatives from partner organizations, community members, and professionals who offer specialized expertise.
The purpose of the Fundraising Committee is to raise funds to insure the financial viability and stability of Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode through an annual fundraiser and on-going events throughout the year. This committee puts on several events for the public, and if A.O. is the sole beneficiary of an event, the project is also handled by the Fundraising Committee.
Any information about fundraising goes to the Fundraising Committee.
