Overview
The Animal Outreach Board of Directors meets in a monthly Closed Board Session and quarterly Open Board Session. Closed Sessions are only for current Board Members, though the Board may request staff’s presence for certain discussions. Open Sessions are open to the public. The Board of Directors currently has four full committees, each of which is headed by a Board member and is potentially open to Board members, staff, and volunteers of A.O (details laid out below). There are two subcommittees, which have their own heads and are potentially open to Board members, staff, and volunteers of A.O (details laid out below). Finally, A.O. has an Advisory Committee which consists of individuals outside of the organization such as members of related organizations or members of the public with specialized skills. Each Board member is required to be an active member of at least one full Committee, though they can serve on as many as they are able.
The purpose of the Fundraising Committee is to raise funds to insure the financial viability and stability of Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode through an annual fundraiser and on-going events throughout the year. This committee puts on several events for the public, and if A.O. is the sole beneficiary of an event, the project is also handled by the Fundraising Committee.
Any information about fundraising goes to the Fundraising Committee.
