Volunteer Opportunity: Accounting Advisor

Are you a financial whiz with a passion for animal welfare? Animal Outreach is seeking a dedicated volunteer to join our team as an Accounting Advisor.

As a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing community service for animals in need, we rely on the support of volunteers to help us achieve our mission. We're seeking an experienced individual who can provide guidance and expertise in areas such as nonprofit bookkeeping, accounting, and QuickBooks. The advisory volunteer position is on an as-needed basis as questions or needs arise, and the total monthly commitment is flexible.

Responsibilities:

· Provide advice and support on business-related questions pertaining to bookkeeping, accounting, and QuickBooks.

· Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.

· Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.

· Provide advice and support on annual tax-exempt filings (familiarity with IRS 990 form).

· Offer recommendations for improving financial efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

· Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management.

· Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Commitment to animal welfare and the mission of Animal Outreach.

· Nonprofit financial experience preferred.
